Green gram split (Moong dal) 1 cup (peel skin and finely chop)
Shallots 4 (sliced)
Green chillies 5 (Julian cut)
Tomato 1 (sliced)
Garlic 5 cloves
Scraped coconut 1 cup
Cumin seeds ½ tsp
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Mustard seeds ½ tsp
Dry red chillies 3 (broken)
Salt to taste
Grind the coconut, cumin seeds and mustard seeds to make a paste in a mixer bowl.
Pressure cook the dal with turmeric powder, tomato, green chillies and salt.
On medium flame, add the coconut paste and stir
Season the curry with mustard seeds, broken red chillies and curry leaves.
