Ingredients

Rice flour 2 cups
Scraped coconut 1 cup
Water 3 cups
Sugar 2tsp
Cumin seeds ¼ tsp
Coconut oil ¼ tsp
Salt to taste 1 tbsp

 

 

           

Method of Preperation

Boil water with the required amount of salt. Add coconut oil and on medium flame add the rice flour stirring till an even thick paste is made

Knead the dough well with your hands

Mix the scraped coconut, sugar and cumin seeds and keep it aside

Fill the idiyappam presser with the prepared dough. Press it out on to idli plates in the form of long threads. Place a teaspoon of the coconut mix on top and press put the threads again. The coconut mix serves as a filling in between the threads.
