Method of Preperation
Add the required amount of salt to the water.
In a bowl add cumin seeds to the rice flour and moist the flour by sprinkling it with the salted water. Make sure the flour doesn’t turn in dough form. Mix evenly.
Puttu is to be made in a puttu maker. Take the puttu kutty (cylindrical piece of the puttu maker) fill it with a handful of scraped coconut and then add the rice flour till half. Layer it with coconut, rice flour and again coconut at the top.
Close the lid and steam it for 5-10 minutes.
Puttu is best served with kadala curry.
